UNL Writing Marathon

Arizona

Next summer I’m going to Arizona and I hope I get to go to the Grand Canyon. My favorite place in Arizona is the University of Phoenix Stadium because that’s where my favorite NFL team, Arizona Cardinals, play. I am also very excited for the nice, warm weather and the beautiful sunsets. Another thing I’m really excited for is seeing my family and being able to spend time with them. Seeing the nice brown and green colors always makes me happy and in a good mood.

The Outsiders Analysis

Ponyboy
In the novel, The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton demonstrates Ponyboy’s change from feeling like he doesn’t really fit in with the greasers to feeling like he does fit in. With no change yet visible, he enjoyed going to the movie theater. Also he likes reading books. He walked home alone which is taking a risk because the socs always jump them. In the middle, he didn’t like the socs but he didn’t hate them either. He thought that just because they’re different it doesn’t mean they have to hate each other. One thing that changed the way he thought about the socs is when he sat at the movies with Cherry. When him and Cherry started getting close he realized that not all socs are the same. Last, he realized Soda and Darry really cared about him after get out of the hospital. After Soda told Ponyboy that they hadn’t gotten any sleep at the hospital Ponyboy thought to himself, “I took a good look at him. He looked completely worn out…” At first, Ponyboy thought that they only cared about Dally and Johnny. They show him that even though they lost two very important people in their lives; Johnny and Dally, they still cared about what happened to him. In conclusion, Ponyboy changed from feeling like he doesn’t fit in to later feeling like he did.

UNL Writing Marathon

Where I’m sitting it looks like I’m in a building inside of a building.
Stories with doors leading to elsewhere.
Mysterious dinging noises in no particular order.
People studying.
Statues standing still.
Windows everywhere I look.
Basketball hoops in the middle of the room waiting to be worked with.
The chatter of people.
The wise owl sitting on the top of the building looking down on you.
The building inside a building.
